Who am I?

Vigovajk has established himself as an active performer across Europe, appearing as both soloist and chamber musician. He has collaborated with the Stockholm Concert House on several occasions, including performances with a piano trio in Gothenburg and a clarinet trio, performing over fifty concerts in the concert house’s foyer. As a member of the Kammerton Music Association Ensemble since 2024, he has performed in renowned venues such as the Berlin Konzerthaus, Musikverein in Vienna, and the Stockholm Concert House. From 2026, he started working as a substitute at the Oslo Operahouse. Just recently in 2026 he recieved the “Familjen John Anderssons i Anderslöv Stiftelse” scholorship.

Vigovajk is a former active member of Quartet VIVE, a young string quartet from the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH). The quartet was part of the Oslo Quartet Series’ talent program Ung kvartettserie and has performed at numerous festivals and concert series, including Ultima Festival, OQS Sessions, the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), the Midgard Competition, Sonisk Hage, Mozart Festival, as well as concerts organized by Oslo Quartet Series and NMH.

Beside his work as a cellist, he has started to actively compose and collaborate with performers. His compositions have been performed in several concerts and festivals across Europe, for example, Bled Contemporary Music Festival in Slovenia, Cellissimo 2025 and 2026 in Oslo, Norway, Alternative Chamber Music Festival “Sansusī” in Susēja, Latvia. His composition Caprijānis Concertino for flute and orchestra was premiered in September of 2023 at the Queen Silvia Concert Hall, Stockholm. Vigovajk was the platinum prize laureate at the Coperin International Music Competition for his piece “Wolfgang” for cello orchestra. In 2024 Vigovajk received 1st prize in WBM International Competition for his string trio “Trio Ē.B.P.”. In 2025 Vigovajk Sagvik´s Concerto for kokle and orchestra was premiered in Stuttgart, Germany together with the conductor Andra Dārziņš and soloist Elīna Agneta Lamberte.  Vigovajk Sagvik continues to develop a versatile career as both performer and composer, dedicated to exploring the possibilities of the cello and contributing to the world of contemporary music making.
